WHat is a zine?wikipedia defines it as "a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine." It's created by a few people (or just one person!) to spread something important to them - in this case, that's creating for jwqs!
what is it going to look like?Across the luo river includes 56 pages of art, writing, and bonus pages! the book itself is 5.5"x8.5" inches (Digest-sized), with a perfect bound softcover.

writers:We'd like to see your coherence and style in writing. In your portfolio, please attach a writing sample that showcases your skills as a writer. It can be a WIP or a completed work, but it is preferred if you have a short (<1000 words) published work (for example, a short fic). This sample should be JWQS-related. Though we will not reject you on basis of poor grammar, do ensure that the mistakes do not hinder the overall understanding of your work. Additionally, you may link other works that you feel depict your skills. These do not need to necessarily be JWQS-related. All submissions must be in English.
— contributors must be 16 years or older to apply.— approximately 15-20 artists and 5-10 writers will be accepted. however, we are approaching the issue of how many applicants to accept in terms of how many pages may be completed by what contributors are willing to contribute (for a tentative total of at least 20 pages of art and 10 pages of fic).— we will not be able to financially compensate or give each contributor their own physical copy of the zine, due to the p4p nature of the zine and the small size of the JWQS fandom.
ARTISTS:We'd like to see your skill and creativity, as well as your love for JWQS! Your portfolio should be 5-15 pieces, and should showcase your understandings of color, composition, and anatomy. At least 2 pieces MUST include a character from JWQS. Pieces will not be solely judged on your command of individual skills, but rather on their cohesiveness to create the full picture. Including more pieces of JWQS will not necessarily elevate your chances, so please include the art you're most proud of over a messy sketch of Qijing.
